Lovely day today so out I go to clean the car.

Nothing much, just a quick clean. Wash and dry while topping up the protection.

As it was so nice I thought I’d seal the wheels along with head and tail lights with some Gyeon Q2M Cancoat.

Looking good!

I think a debadge would really clean the rear up though :)

I keep thinking about it.

I’ve got 17 nights off coming up so I may strip the car back, debadge and then reseal.

Do it! Really cleans up any car. Plus since your car is new, no gunky residue or imprints should be in the paint.

Still love that color btw

Superb,,,,, Superb,,,,,, it’s ruddy fabulous. Lol.

Did you seal or wax it? If there are any waterspots a quick wipedown with a Quick Detailer will sort it out.

I’ll get some dental floss next week and a cheap hair dryer.

I’ve also been considering Monte Carlo (black) front and rear Skoda logos.

Maybe even get them painted to match the colour of the car.

But I also want to replace a lot of the door and boot bulbs with LEDs.

That looks divine! You’re missing the tire dressing!

What are your thoughts on Gyeon? I've never tried their products but have heard good things.

Fap fap fap, Skoda did a beautiful job designing that one.

I only initially intended to quick wash the car but an hour later I thought I’d use the opportunity to Cancoat the wheels, licence plate and lights. I thought about dressing the tyres but changed my mind.

Gyeon are good. Especially the Wetcoat, so easy to use, leaving a great super hydrophobic coating behind.

Can be followed up with Gyeon Cure as a drying aid which bonds with Si02 based sealants, topping up the protection.

Gyeon Prep is okay but not as good as other similar products like regular IPA, CarPro Eraser, Panel Wipe, etc...

Gyeon Cancoat is easy to use. Prep the paint, spray some Cancoat onto a cloth and wipe on and buff off, follow with a second coat after at least and hour and don’t get wet for 24 hours. You can speed up the curing by after an hour of applying the second coat following it up with Gyeon Cure, this means you only need to wait 4-6 hours before getting wet.

Gyeon Wetcoat.

Gyeon Cancoat (the product in the video below is the first Cancoat in an aerosol spray can, the current Cancoat uses a regular pump sprayer but is the same product inside, simply a different method of containment).

My favourite design feature is the shutline less/creaseless bonnet.

How do you deal with curing outdoors? Do you use a quick detailed before applying a second coat? Do you store the car somewhere inside over night for the 24 hours? I’m curious because for my next car I’m interested in either doing doing a coating or a super heavy duty sealant. The sealants I've used don't have much longevity because my car stays outside 24/7.

I usually use whatever I have depending on the weather an the time I’ve got. Anything with more than six hours curing time is out of the question really.

If you used a QD between coats the second coat won’t bond correctly.

Sealants that need time to cure when doing outside can only really be done at certain times of the year (in th U.K. Anyway). So a really careful watch on the weather is a must. But for the U.S. You’ll need to bear in mind too hot a temperature can be a problem also.

The Skoda lives outside 24/7. Wetcoat needs no time to cure and I’ve had four months easily out of it. Topping up is easy. Any sealant or coating needs maintenance. Wetcoat is super easy and the water behaviour is mental afterwards.

I forgot Gyeon Bathe and Bathe+. Bathe is a regular car shampoo that cleans well and leaves nothing behind to hinder the actions of any coating on the vehicle. Bathe+ is like Bathe but has the added bonus of Si02. Which cleans and tops up the protection or add some protection to a car that hasn’t any applied.
